Free crochet headband pattern!

Like I promised, here is a red & white flower headband!

It's actually very easy to do, and I had so much fun doing it!

Here is the pattern!

For this pattern you will need;
  • cotton yarn (142m in 50g), one red & one white
  • 3 mm crochet hook

I've been using a Mirabela Unitas yarn, here is a link with all the info(and the aprox. gauge)!

It's a 100% cotton thread, organic. I've been using a 3mm crochet hook.

The finished size is 41cm, or 16.1inches.
The stitches that I used are the simple ones:
  • ch - chain
  • slst - slip stitch
  • sc - single crochet
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • tr - treble crochet

Round 1: Chain 106.

Round 2: Sc in second ch from the hook, make another 104sc.

Round 3: Turn the work, ch1, make a sc in the first sc from the hook, make another 104sc.

Round 4:  Turn the work, ch1, sc in next sc(like the previous round), make another 104sc.

Now you have one basic ch and 3 rounds of sc! That's it for the white yarn! Fasten off! Here is a link to do that if you're an absolute beginner.

Round 5: Now work with the red yarn. Join yarn into the sole by making a slst. Make 3hdc in second sc from the hook, slst in next sc *3hdc, slst repeat from* till the end.

Round 6: (When you reach the end, make 3 slst in the end of the sc that you made with white yarn so you'll have a nice border),   make 3hdc second sc from the hook, slst, *3hdc, slst repeat from * till the end just like in row 5. (When you reach the end, make another border on the other side with 3 slst). Fasten off.

And that's it for the headband! Now join red yarn with a sc in the end, and make 30ch, fasten off. Do that on the other edge too (so that you can tie it!).
If you need a larger or smaller headband, the number of sc must be dividable by 3, because of the red trim. For the basic chains (1. round), just use the formula number of sc * 3 + 1.

Now a flower

Round 1: Ch4, slst in first ch,
Round 2: ch 3, sc in the round, *ch3, sc in the round, repeat from * till you have 5 petals.

Round3: Slst in space of 3chains, ch1, 3dc in the same space of 3chains, ch1, slst in the same 3ch space, repeat till you have 5 petals. Fasten off.

Round 4: On the back side, join the white yarn with  slst, than ch4 on the back side, slst is sc, repeat till you have 5 chains on the back side.

Round 5: Sc, dc, tr, dc sc in each chain space.Fasten off.

Round 6:  On the back side, join the red yarn with slst. Ch 5, slst in each sc till you have 5 chain spaces.

Round 7: Now work in those chain spaces: Sc, dc, 2tr, dc, sc. Fasten off.

Hope you'll have fun doing it! This is actually my first ever pattern, so please if you have any questions, or suggestions, do not hesitate to contact me! I will be happy to receive any info from you!

You are free to sell whatever you make from this pattern! But are not free to claim this pattern as your own! I would be very grateful if you mentioned me and my blog if you publish the finished item!
